Hello! I moved to BCS and began teaching in advanced academics in 2017. After years of teaching in another district, at BISD, I found dedicated teachers who selflessly go above and beyond to meet the needs of their students. I knew I would want to teach here forever. Working with my committed and steadfast team is one of the greatest delights in my life; the other is getting to spend my days teaching incredible students. Our whole team is united for our students' support and success.

My Credentials
I have a BS from Old Dominion University, in Norfolk, VA, (middle school, science and English, 2000) and a master's degree (EC, T&L, 2013) from LeTourneau University, in Longview, TX (including a couple of semesters attending seminary at SWBTS).
I am certified as Generalist (EC-6), English Language Arts and Reading (7-12), Gifted and Talented (EC-12), and English as a Second Language (EC-12).
Through TIA, I have earned the designation of Master Teacher, through 2027.
Before teaching, I had a career in ministry, which I thoroughly enjoyed. However, when my oldest was in 6th grade, she moved to public school, and I figured I should go with her. I've been teaching in public school ever since. By accident, I found that my heart truly lies with those in my classroom, year after year. What a joy this has become for me!
I am the lead teacher for Aspire and the department head for social studies. If I can help you with either of those areas, please let me know!
